Pro Pickleball Gear was built around performance first, creating durable pickleball bags and accessories from materials engineered for the harshest conditions on the water. From the beginning, we believed that responsible material use and high-performance design could live in the same product.
That belief led to our partnership with Sail to Shelter.
The Sail to Shelter Mission
In 2018, Angela Ashby launched the nonprofit organization, Sail to Shelter, with a simple but powerful idea: give elite sail material a second life serving communities in need.

By transforming surplus and retired racing sail fabric into shade structures and humanitarian shelters, Sail to Shelter supports aid organizations working around the world.
Her work has grown into a global effort, transforming surplus sail material into meaningful shelter and support for communities worldwide.
From Sail to Shelter to Court
Rhonda Gurr had followed Angela Ashby’s work with Sail to Shelter for years and admired her mission of giving elite sail material a second life.
After falling in love with pickleball, Rhonda saw the opportunity to bring that same surplus racing sail fabric to the court. Why not apply its strength and durability to a new kind of high-performance pickleball gear?
Through Angela’s material network and Sail to Shelter’s vision, Pro Pickleball Gear is able to responsibly source surplus sail fabric originally manufactured for competitive racing yachts.
